Eric Carberry and his crew tackled restoration project number 3 in the shape of a 1968 Canteen / Incident Unit Built on a Landrover Chassis. Quite a lot of work to do on this project so have a look at the next page and see just what lies ahead for Heritage Trust member Eric and his dedicated crew.
This was a Salvation Army Canteen Unit, which was sent out to major fires to provide food and drink to personnel . It was also sent to other major incidents which were not fire related. In 2003 it was kept in the yard at Easterhouse Fire Station and by 2007 it was moved to the yard at Renfrew fire station until its disposal
This vehicle has a 2.5 Litre Engine and is a long Wheelbase Landrover Mobile Canteen / Incident Unit
G222 TGA was replaced with a Ford Transit Emergency Response Vehicle CA54GXZ.
The Landrover Canteen Unit has now been sold
