Greenock's New Appliance

This vehicle was a 1912 Dennis Pump with the registration number VS212. Costing £1085 back then, it was powered by a 6 cylinder petrol engine with a capacity of 11401 cc. and developed 75 Horse Power. The engine number was 5041 and the body number was 3404

Greenock's Municipal Buildings were built in 1879 from the design of architect H D Barclay, therein was located the towns Fire Station in Dalrymple Street. The station provided fire cover for the area from 1887 right through to 1960 when the Rue End Street fire station opened.
